I have been pondering what it means to live in the light of the resurrection, today as I presided at communion and placed pieces of torn bread into peoples hands I became deeply aware that somehow brokenness heals brokenness because when that brokenness is given as a gift it releases a power born of vulnerability and open to all.
My own recent experience has forced me to own my own vulnerability and brokeness, but it has also wonderfully opened a door to God's forgiveness and grace. To enter into resurrection means entering first into death, into an owing of our personal reality, of passing through the letting go of defences and ego, and embracing the givenness of Christ amd allowing his life to become our life.
As I ponder this I am reminded of images of transformation, of the caterpillar entering into the flux of the chrysallis and the resulting sense of chaos and disorder that somehow becomes a re-ordering and release. To find release we must give ourselves away to the only one who can free us...
and this is a wonderful mystery...
