We have just returned from holiday in North West Norfolk where we spent a wonderful ten days sailing and catching up with friends, an added bonus is that we returned home with a trophy and a few bottles of wine!
Every day for a week we loaded the boat onto her trailer and took her to a different destination for the days sailing, over the week we covered a few hundred miles on bumpy Norfolk roads; we had one flat tyre on the car at Snettisham that week, and Tim changed that in the pouring rain! Then on the way home we got a flat on the trailer, and it turned out that we weren't carrying a spare (oops). So we called the A.A. (we are members), they were confused by the boat trailer tyre but promised to be out in an hour...
An hour passed, hmm we thought, come on Lord show the A.A. where we are, (or words of prayer to that effect any way!), when a beaten up blue pick-up truck swung in in front of us. A face appeared at the window and a broad Lincolnshire accent enquired " you alright mate?". Tim explained our predicament. "Hang on" he said, "I've got an 8 inch tyre, I'll be back soon..."
And he was, with a tyre that fitted perfectly, Tim removed the old tyre and slipped the new one in while our angel in disguise physically lifted our boat! "Right" he said in a matter of fact way "I'd better get off, I mowed over a wasps nest earlier and I'm stung all over," adding cheerfully "you've got a spare now!"
We looked around and he'd gone...
All we can say is that God answers prayer in unusual ways!
The picture is actually of Tim and Jo sailing, bit hard to take photos while out on the water!
