Picked this up from Sam, and as I was chilling out watching Come Dine With Me, I thought I'd play along. Sam says:
Rules: you have to have 12 people, including yourself. Of those there need to be at least four men, at least four women, at least four known to you personally and at least four who are "famous". You're not allowed anyone who has passed on to the great hereafter - that would be a rather different sort of party. It needs to be one that might plausibly work (ie don't just pile people together). You also need to choose a place/ style of food.
So I pick a bloggers and others dinner party:
Myself
The Archdruid's wife (someone has to sort Eileen out!)
Dave East; because every dinner party needs bringing down to earth
Mark Rowland: because it makes me smile that we are miles apart in practice but on the same theological page (mostly)
Leo Osborne and Ruth Pickles: because they are blogging through their year as President and Vice President of Conference and I think they'd be interesting!
Then the famous folk:
Sinnead O'Connor, because I think she'd be great and challenging!
John Sentamu and his wife Margaret, I love the way they both live prophetically!
And finally: oh how about Rupert Murdoch, doesn't every dinner party need a fly in the ointment, and any way we could always ask him questions!
Now where would we eat? Now I love the Blue Bicycle at York, as for wine a good Shiraz- that would be great!
Want to play, let me know...
