We have been faithful...
+
We want things
how they've always been,
traditional worship,
hymns we know...
+
We want people who come
to understand
why our chairs and brasses,
are precious to us,
to realise why
we always say the
traditional version of the Lord's prayer...
+
We want the collection taken
during the penultimate verse of
the third hymn
it's traditional!
+
And although we welcomed
the purchase of
the screen and projector,
we don't really want it used everyweek,
and please don't show us video's...
+
We want young families
to come,
but we're not keen on
hearing children playing
(even quietly).
+
We want our congregation to grow
and don't really understand
why it is shrinking.
+
We want, what we want,
because we don't know how
to contemplate
anything else...
+
We want what we had,
because it was good...

Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you'll have it forever, real and eternal.
John 12:24-25

I hear an echo from another song:
....I wonder if, or
how we can travel together
to a strange yet familiar land
where hope was not fenced in
by
want...
