Why are you
challenging us
Jesus?
We do not want fire,
we want peace.
We want you to speak comfortable,
comforting words to us,
so..
tell us another story,
feed us again,
heal us,
inspire us,
comfort us, but..
don’t
confront us with
visions of fire,
and division…
come, let’s put out those
newly kindled flames,
let’s sit and talk,
let’s laugh together…
no more talk of fire…
….why are you
challenging us
Jesus?

Jesus said:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.(John 14:27)
Jesus also said:
"When you see clouds coming in from the
west, you say, 'Storm's coming'—and you're right. And when the wind comes out
of the south, you say, 'This'll be a hot one'—and you're right. Frauds! You
know how to tell a change in the weather, so don't tell me you can't tell a
change in the season, the God-season we're in right now. (Luke 12:54-56)
