Singing Owl over at Revgals says:
This is the picture out of my window this morning!!!!
Brrrr! Baby, it’s COLD outside! At least that is the case where I am this morning. We are in a January deep freeze. Have a cup of hot tea and tackle five easy seasonal questions.
1. What is the thermometer reading at your house this morning?
It was pretty warm here in the UK today- highest temps were 10°C (50°F), warm enough to walk on the beach, though we did have what Norfolk folk call a lazy wind... it goes straight through rather than round you!!!

2. Snow—love it or hate it?
I love it, but then it never stays long in this part of the world, so we can play for a couple of days and then get back to work. There have been a few instances of extreme weather but they are few and far between!
3. What is winter like where you are?
Mild, grey and wet....yuk! This year I have put a SADS light bulb in my office, it gives bright full spectrum light, the grey and dark winter days always get me down, it has helped, but I am longing for the sun! We have been fortunate though, many parts of the UK have been on flood alert several times this week.
4. Do you like winter sports? Any good stories?
I do like watching winter sports from the comfort of my sofa!!! But I'm not too keen on being cold. I used to ice-skate almost every week, but haven't done that for a long time.
5. What is your favourite season, and why?
Spring- somehow it is full of promise, I love spring flowers, it is certainly the best month in my garden. I was born on Candlemas which is traditionally the turning point of winter and also the time we turn in the Christian year from the cradle to the cross- hope is with us, and there is a journey ahead, fresh and new every year.
Bonus: Share a favourite winter pick-me-up. A recipe, an activity, or whatever.
To get out for a walk every time the sun shines!!!
And soup! I make lots of soups in the winter- a family favourite for special occasions is Homemade French Onion Soup, we use Delia Smiths recipe, you can find it here.
