I have spent the last few days atempting to write an essay on Biblical Hermeneutics, so far I have 4,000 words of the required 6,000, the trouble is I have just read through what I have and am utterly disgusted with what I have produced.
Some of it is incomprehensible even to me, so how can I expect anyone else to understand it, some of it is simply banal and repetitious and some of it I don't agree with and I'm wondering why I wrote it....
The question I am seeking to answer is: "What have the parables of Jesus to say to the twenty first century?", my problem is that I seem to have lost my way in through my atempt to answer it...
I do believe that the parables have something to say to us today, that they are as important and significant now as they were when Jesus first uttered them. I think that my problem is that I have lost my voice amidst the myriad of other voices and commentators... some I am taking some time out to see if I can find it again!
