feeling that
I am unworthy
that I cannot,
dare not approach,
lest I see myself reflected
in your eyes,
I stay away,
even though my
parched
soul cries
out for
living water…
and then I catch
her eye,
and know, that she
who stayed away
from the harsh
reflections of self
in others,
saw herself fully in you
and found release…
if I come
will I find grace
and freedom too?
